Admission requirements vary by undergraduate program. Visit Academic Programs and select your program of interest to view specific academic and non-academic (if applicable) requirements.
Minimum Academic Requirements (subject to change):
- Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
- Six (6) Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%. This establishes eligibility for admission; subject to competition, individual programs may establish higher academic averages. 日博电竞登录下载靠谱 University (TMU) receives more applications than spaces available. Meeting minimum averages and/or grades does not guarantee admission.
- All programs also stipulate specific prerequisite subject requirements. Grades required for admission are determined on the basis of competition each year.
Admission Average :
- Grade 11 results may be used in the early admission offer process. Offers will stipulate Grade 12 final results that must be achieved.
- TMU allows mixing of U, M, and OAC courses as applicable; equivalent/comparable courses will not be double-counted.
- The "out of school" component of Grade 12 U or M co-op courses are not acceptable for admission or scholarship consideration.
- Repeated/Upgraded Courses - Currently, TMU will calculate an applicant's overall average using their final marks in their best six Grade 12 U or M courses, which may include repeated/upgraded course marks.
Prerequisite Subjects:
- Grade 12 U English is required for all programs. The preferred English for all programs is ENG4U/EAE4U and is the required English for Journalism, and the RTA School of Media: Media Production and Sport Media programs.
- English as a Second Language studies or Tests for English Language Proficiency cannot be used as a substitute for Grade 12 U English/Anglais (or equivalent). Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to submit Proof of Proficiency in English .
Non-Academic Requirements:
- Programs may specify non-academic requirements for admission (e.g. portfolio, admission essay, interview, audition, etc.). These programs are referred to as Grades-Plus programs. The specific non-academic requirements for individual Grades-Plus programs, including specific submission dates and procedures, are available by visiting each Program page. Note: for Grades-Plus programs, both academic and non-academic criteria will be used in the admission selection process.
Summer School:
- All applicants, including those given an early or conditional Offer of Admission, are required to successfully complete all admission requirements by June 30th (unless otherwise stated in your official Offer of Admission). In most cases, this excludes the possibility of using any summer school course(s) (including night school, e-school, and correspondence and/or distance education courses completed after June 30th in the Grade 12 year) to meet admission requirements. Visit Summer School and Other Extensions for details.
The minimum academic requirements apply to all programs. You are encouraged to achieve as much breadth of preparation as possible in the course of your studies leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, while also meeting the subject prerequisite requirements of your program(s) of choice.
