The Senate consists of 51 elected members including students, faculty, librarians, alumni and 18 non-elected members of the administration, including the Chancellor. Bicycle Parking , opens in new window To promote bicycle ridership on campus, Toronto Met has installed some bicycle posts and racks throughout the campus, which can accommodate 1,000 bicycles. Also, Toronto Met has secure indoor bicycle storage located at the rear of 110 Bond Street (accessible from Victoria Lane), with a capacity of 64 bicycles. Group programs and workshops are offered on a range of topics such as depression, anxiety, assertiveness, shyness, stress, family and interpersonal relationships. All appointments are free for currently enrolled, degree program students and all communication between students and Counsellors is kept strictly confidential within legal guidelines. Childcare - Toronto Met Early Learning Centre , opens in new window The Toronto Met Early Learning Centre is the School’s Licensed laboratory child care facility. The ELC is located on the first floor of West Kerr Hall and is a key part of the School’s teaching and learning mandate. The ELC provides an exemplary model of early childhood education in full-day child care and early learning programs for 65 children from age eighteen months to five years.

Academic Computing Labs , opens in new window Central computer labs for general purpose are available for all Toronto Met students and they provide access to many software applications. Your school or department may have other facilities available for your use. Lab hours vary throughout the year. Fresh Start , opens in new window Fresh Start is a Student Success Program designed for students who have been ‘Required to Withdraw’ from their program of study. It includes an 8-week skills-building course run by Student Learning Support called Fresh Start Strategies (CIFS 100). The course involves face-to-face sessions, weekly online discussions and online course assignments. In this course, you will explore our academic barriers, and strengths. The course will also give you the opportunity to build skills to move forward. By successfully completing the Fresh Start Strategies course (CIFS 100) and meeting the contract requirements established by your program over two semesters, you are guaranteed reinstatement the following semester.
Health and Dental Insurance , external link, opens in new window All full-time undergraduate and full-time graduate students at Toronto Met are automatically covered under the Toronto Met Students’ Union’s Health & Dental Plan. The Plan offers extended health and dental insurance coverage for one year from September 1 to August 31. Full-time students who start in September are charged an annual fee for the Plan on their Toronto Met tuition fee statement. Students who begin in January are charged a pro-rated amount. Lockers

In September a certain number of campus lockers are administered by some program departments for their students. Please consult your department to find out if they have a locker sign-up process. You are responsible for the contents of your locker. Never leave valuables (for example, laptop computers, wallets, jewelry) in your locker. The university will not take any responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged items in the lockers.

Each program department will have their own locker protocol and students should consult their program office for more information.

Math Support , opens in new window Individual drop-in tutoring, course-specific group tutoring, and facilitated study groups are designed to improve your math skills and support your success in math-related courses across all faculties.
Media Services , opens in new window Borrow portable presentation equipment from Media Services. We provide a selection of digital (projectors, cameras), audio (recorders, microphones, PA systems), video (recorders, players, TVs, cameras), projection (film, slide, overheads) and miscellaneous (flip charts, patch cords) equipment for use in course-related projects. Medical Centre , opens in new window The Medical Centre is a medical clinic which provides currently registered Toronto Met students, staff and faculty, with a wide range of medical services that you would normally expect to receive from your family physician. This includes the treatment of illnesses, such as colds or the flu, to routine examinations like annual physicals and internal examinations. Parking Services , opens in new window There are three daily (non-permit) parking facilities: Above ground parking at 300 Victoria Street Garage, Underground parking at 160 Mutual Street Garage and Surface parking at 202 Jarvis Street Lot. Students can purchase a vehicle parking permit online in late August on a first-come-first-served basis. The permit can be used seven days a week and is valid September through April. Spring/Summer permits are for four months (May to August) or two months (May to June or July to August). Parking permits are only available for currently active Toronto Met students.

Tri-Mentoring , opens in new window Are you going into first year? Lots of questions? Not to worry! The Tri-Mentoring Program is here to help with your transition into university. First year students are mentored by upper year students providing support to culturally and linguistically diverse students with adjustment to university and the world of work. Once in the program, second and third year students continue to develop leadership skills and participate in mentoring activities. Third and fourth year students are mentored by professionals in industry.

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) , opens in new window All international students studying in Ontario must be covered by a provincial health insurance plan. As a full-time international student you are provided with the mandatory health insurance plan, known as the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP), that pays for medical services such as seeing a doctor, hospital stays and treatment, exams and emergency services. International students must visit International Student Services (ISS) to ensure that you are enrolled in UHIP. Your UHIP card will also be available at ISS for pick up.
Walk Safe Program , opens in new window This service provides Toronto Met's community with a protected escort by security officers or supervisors 24 hours a day to any location on the Toronto Met campus, to the Dundas subway or to nearby parking lots off campus.
